Summer is off and running here at FastLane Records and we would like to announce that we’re in the planning stages of a tribute to one of the greatest, most influential bands of all time, the mighty…Cheap Trick. It has become somewhat of a policy here at FLR that we do not do tributes unless deemed worthy enough…and we think Cheap Trick speaks volumes! We feel this innovative icon band deserves to be payed homage by a tribute done right. Not only will we be using FLR talent but we will be going outside the label and choosing other bands that we feel will represent the vibe of Cheap Trick’s catalog of songs. Stay tuned.

Best of Seven welcomes new bassist Darrel D’Arnold (you might remember him from Leif Garret’s band F8). We also welcome new guitarist Joe Casey (who in his own right has many merits in the comic book writing field such as: X-Men, KISS, Superman). BO7 will unveil their new line-up on July 6 in Hollywood at the Viper Room, which will mark their first time back to the stage in a while. BO7 and Mars Needs Women both have contributed to the upcoming Enuff Z Nuff tribute CD on Smash Records, with BO7 covering ‘Baby Loves You’ and MNW taking on ‘Someday’. Summer is hitting mid-swing, but here at FLT we’re just getting things kicked into high gear.

FLR are in current negotiations with several new projects and are waiting to ‘seal the deal’ before we go public on these matters. Until then keep checking our website at www.fastlanerecords.com for the latest info.

If you haven’t done so, check out the new FLR t-shirt. We’re keeping the special going, which is by both Mars Needs Women and Best Of Seven and receive the FLR shirt absolutely free! (a $12 value) mail order only. Stay tuned… more to come
